  • The candidates are divided into groups. Everyone will be assigned an individual application time via e-mail during the week before the audition.
  • The audition starts at 10h00

3. Regulations

3.1.registration:

3.2. process of the audition:

The Chairman of the jury is the Chief Conductor.

The order of the program is determined by the jury the day of the audition.
Applicants can be eliminated in any round.

The Belgian National Orchestra reserves the right to spread the audition over several days in the event that the different rounds cannot be completed in one day (e.g. due to high number of registered candidates).


3.3. piano accompaniment during the audition:

The orchestra provides a pianist-accompanist for the candidates throughout the different rounds of the audition.

 

4. Employment conditions

The candidate taking up the position has to be laureate of the audition and fulfill the general conditions for admission. Non-EU candidates have to comply with the laws of immigration. The candidate is recruited on the basis of fulltime employment (100%) with salary 3.623,51 € (gross salary) based on scale S04 (scale instrumentist). The laureate who takes up the position is offered a fixed-term contract of minimum 6 months to maximum 12 months. After this period and after a positive evaluation at the end, a renewal of the contract (unlimited term) can be proposed. 

The musician reports to and follows the performance directions of the Principal(s), Concertmaster(s), and Conductor(s). She/he must have outstanding professional playing abilities, knowledge of the range of orchestral repertoire, and contribute to performances that meet the highest musical standards. She/he must be an effective and committed team player in a diverse work environment, demonstrating respect for others by being fully prepared before the first rehearsal and contributing to safeguarding a climate where artistic excellence flourishes. She/he will prepare her/his own parts and participate in audition panels, trial assessment meetings, and other orchestral meetings with due regard to confidentiality.
