Victor Jacob

Finalist and “Mention Spécial” in Besançon Conducting Competition 2019, French conductor Victor Jacob is regularly invited with orchestras in Europe and abroad, including Orchestre National de Lyon, Orchestre National de Montpellier, Orchestre Royal Philharmonique de Liège, Orchestre Opéra de Rouen-Normandie, Orchestre de Chambre Nouvelle-Acquitaine, Esbjerg Ensemble in Danemark, Moscow State Philharmonia, or Orchestre de Picardie.

In opera productions, Victor is invited to conduct or assist the Orchestre Philharmonique de Monte-Carlo, Orchestre Symphonique de La Monnaie, Orchestre National de France or Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio-France and learned about the operatic repertoire assisting Antonio Pappano, Nathalie Stutzmann or Paolo Arrivabeni.

Last season he conducted Orchestre National de Bordeaux, Orchestre Philharmonique de Marseille, Orchestre Symphonique de Mulhouse, and Orchestre de Chambre de Paris at Théatre des Champs-Élysées, as well as Chorégies d’Orange festival, and shared the stage with Katia Buniatishvilli, Michael Spyres, Gaëlle Arquez, Julie Fuchs, Lucienne Renaudin Vary, or Edgar Moreau.

This season, Victor will make his debuts with Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio-France, Orquestra Sinfonica Simon Bolivar de Venezuela, Orchestre National de Lille, Orchestre National Avignon-Provence and Orchestre de l’Opéra Royal de Versailles.

From 2019 to 2022, he was the assistant conductor of Liège Royal Philharmonic Orchestra with Gergely Madaras and then Orchestre National de Lille with Alexandre Bloch.

Graduated from the Royal Academy of Music in London and the Conservatoire National Supérieur in Paris, he was trained by Alain Altinoglu, Sian Edwards and Colin Metters, and received the training of Paavo and Kristjan Järvi, Leonid Grin, Marin Alsop, David Zinman, Lawrence Foster, or Bernard Haitink.
