We are thrilled to welcome Eivind Aadland as Artistic Partner for the 26/27 season, during which he will lead major productions with the BNO.

Eivind Aadland is Chief Conductor and Artistic Director of Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra. His tenure has been defined by a deep, responsive bond with the musicians, allied with a refined musical sensitivity. He also enjoys an ongoing relationship with Oslo Philharmonic and recorded a definitive five-volume Grieg cycle with WDR Symphony Orchestra Köln.

Aadland is a dedicated pedagogue and plays a vital role in shaping the future of the craft through his leadership within Dirigentloftet, Norway’s premier mentoring scheme for young conductors, and his work with Norway’s National Youth Orchestra.

His creative identity is in part shaped by his passion for contemporary visual art. An avid collector, Aadland frequently bridges the gap between sound and sight by collaborating with visual artists including Mat Collishaw and Elina Brotherus to create immersive, multidisciplinary experiences.
