Winter concert

Winterconcert - A la vie, à la mort – Voor altijd

1st grade elementary school

À la vie, à la mort - Voor altijd is a comforting show about the beauty of grief and the indissoluble love that binds us to our loved ones. The Belgian National Orchestra offers consolation and pleasure with a selection of orchestral music by Purcell, Khatchatourian and Saint-Saëns, arias by Mozart and Thomas ... and even pieces by Sinatra and Brel.

Do you believe in life after death?

Yes," says Anna, "it scares me less.

Oh, then I believe in it too," says Émile.

Together, Anna and Émile imagine a world. Not just any world, but one in which Anna's granny and Émile's dad meet. Their loved ones laugh and joke, cry and feel the emptiness, but above all: they live. For eternity. Dad lives on in the sparkle of Émile's eyes, and Anna finds her granny in the smell of freshly baked pie.

With À la vie, à la mort, singer-director Helene Bracke aims to put an end forever to the taboo of grief and absence. Physical actor Anatoli Akerman (Cirque du Soleil, Circus Roncalli, Walt Disney) provides a perfect balance between grief and entertainment, mourning and laughter.
