A city full of music

Sat 26.11.22 11:30

The Belgian National Orchestra, la Monnaie and Bozar step outside their walls and join forces to bring music to the streets of Brussels.

The fifth edition of United Music Of Brussels presents a musical adventure that brings artists together across different atmospheres and in close contact with the public. And all for free! This year, the festival consists of three days of musical walks. Let yourself be carried through a different district each day to the rhythm of well-known and beloved melodies.

Appointments on 24, 25 and 26 November in the galleries on the Sablon, Bozar and the Queen's Gallery, but also in many other places.

Programme Saturday, November 26

Fenix
The bassoon quartet Fenix performs a dazzling cocktail of well-known jazz and pop arrangements. With Dirk Noyen (bassoon), Koen Coppè (bassoon), Davy Callens (bassoon) and Wim van Volsem (bassoon).

Nino Rota: Nonetto
Nino Rota's musical universe is extremely vast. Besides dozens of operas, ballets and chamber music, he also wrote film music that made him world-famous. His Nonetto is a star composition for as many as nine musicians that will shine forever. With Denis-Pierre Gustin (flute), Arnaud Guittet (oboe), Julien Bénéteau (clarinet), Filip Neyens (bassoon), Anthony Devriendt (horn), Mihoko Kusama (viola) Dmitry Silvian (cello), Svetoslav Dimitriev (double bass) and Misako Akama (violin).

Avenue Louise goes underground

The eccentric duo AVENUE LOUISE takes on the great masters of film music at the new event venue Reset. The intense programme oscillates between fragile and exuberant, humorous and serious, theatrical and sensitive. With Liza Dedapper (soprano) and Koen Severens (trombone).

Imaginary landscapes

The creative imagination that each of us possesses allows us to transcend earthly life. This harp and flute duo forms a musical bridge between this and other worlds, and invites you to discover works by Satie, Takemitsu and Cage. Ideal for daydreamers! With Annie Lavoisier (harp) and Denis-Pierre Gustin (flute and alto flute).

Anthony Devriendt
Flying concerts by horn player Anthony Devriendt. At times he echoes Olivier Messiaen's Appel interstellar, at other times the famous Siegfried call from Wagner's tetralogy Der Ring des Nibelungen. With Antony Devriendt (horn).

Ricardo Matarredona
Clarinetist Ricardo Matarredona, originally from Spain, presents two electroacoustic compositions. Both modern and timeless, these works sketch the world and the life we lead: complex, multiple, chaotic but always fascinating. Featuring Ricardo Matarredona (electroacoustic clarinet).
