As a Young Ambassador, you will be part of a group of students of various nationalities between the ages of 18 and 25 from Belgian conservatories, colleges and universities, who enjoy privileged access to the concerts and a look behind the scenes of the Belgian National Orchestra. You are also willing to share your ideas on how to reach young people via social networks and to use your skills to enthuse new audiences. You are willing to think about new concepts and formats to keep classical music fresh and up to date.

YOUNG AMBASSADORS 2023-24

Are you studying in Belgium? Are you passionate about orchestral music? And are you familiar with social networks? Then apply to join the Young Ambassadors of the Belgian National Orchestra!

Be part of the future of our orchestra

Orchestras have a long tradition in Europe: today you can find them in almost every major city. But what role should these institutions play in the 21st century? How should the repertoire be adapted? And what is the best way to reach young people? To answer these and other questions, the Belgian National Orchestra is looking for up to 20 Young Ambassadors. We will select a maximum of two students per school to be part of this project.

Attend the concerts for free and promote them

On the one hand, the Young Ambassadors are invited to attend a selection of our concerts in Bozar for free. Before the concerts, there will be meetings with the musicians of the orchestra, the soloists or the conductors. In exchange for the efforts of the Young Ambassadors to bring other students to the concert, we offer them a discount on the ticket price. The Young Ambassadors are invited to talk about the concert on their social networks.

Moments of reflection

In addition, the Young Ambassadors will reflect with us on the programming and communication strategies of the Belgian National Orchestra during some short workshops before the concerts. What needs to be improved? What can be done differently? At the end of the season, the Young Ambassadors will share their findings.
