Winter Concert - Mozart Viva la Libertà!
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, excerpts from different operas and symphonies
Every year, Bozar and the Belgian National Orchestra organise a heart-warming family performance just before the Christmas holidays. This year, the French artist collective Les Clés d’Ecoute, specialised in performances for young audiences presents a brand-new production based on the music of Mozart.
The common theme running through this performance? A bird that gradually regains its freedom! A mime artist guides young and old through the concert, while video images provide a fantastic visual spectacle.
Young singers perform arias of the bird catcher Papageno, his sweetheart Papagena and of the terrifying Queen of the Night – all characters from Mozart’s most famous opera, The Magic Flute. The programme also includes excerpts from two other masterpieces: Così fan tutti and Don Giovanni. However, you can expect a completely new storyline that will turn all your knowledge about these operas upside down!
