So many emotions on October 23 and 24, when the incredible Zaho de Sagazan shared the Bozar stage for two unforgettable nights with the Belgian National Orchestra. Relive the highlights of these concerts, masterfully conducted by Dirk Brossé.
Love, Tristesse, packed halls, thunderous ovations… It’s hard to capture in words the intensity of what the young French artist delivered. By wrapping her songs in a brand-new symphonic setting — delicately colored by the ethereal sounds of the ondes Martenot — Zaho de Sagazan, Dirk Brossé, and the BNO offered a theatrical concert that blurred the lines between pop and classical music.
"The Belgian National Orchestra pulled out all the stops: deep bass lines, delicate violin playing, steaming brass, and every so often — boom! — the crash of timpani. But even that wasn’t enough for Zaho de Sagazan, France’s brightest new chanson star. Wearing a wig that could make Björk and Bowie envious and a Louis Vuitton dress (the same one she wore at the Paris Olympics), she moved effortlessly around, in front of, and between the ninety musicians, with the ease of someone who’s been on stage for twenty years. The audience simply couldn’t get enough of her. (...) The standing ovation was loud, long, and deeply heartfelt — a declaration of love that rose above the clouds. ★★★★★" — De Standaard (Peter Vantyghem), 24/10/2025
