To celebrate the 150th anniversary of Maurice Ravel's birth in 2025, the Belgian National Orchestra brings you two unmissable programmes!
A very French line-up awaits you at Bozar on 7 February, with two concertos for the price of one! The esteemed pianist Alexandre Tharaud will be juggling lightness and tragedy in the Piano Concerto in G major and the Concerto for the Left Hand in D major. Under the baton of Fabien Gabel, the Belgian National Orchestra will also perform Olivier Messiaen's Les Offrandes oubliées and Claude Debussy's La Mer, the undisputed symbol of musical impressionism.
This concert will also be given on 8 February at 19:00 at the Grand Manège - Namur Concert Hall.
With Daphnis et Chloé, Ravel's longest and most ambitious work, the composer has produced a score rich in colour and a particularly refined orchestration. Antony Hermus, chief conductor of the BNO, will also venture into Roussel's Bacchus et Ariane, and Liszt's First Piano Concerto, alongside the young American pianist George Li.
