Arvo Pärt is celebrating his 90th birthday with a mesmerizing concert that honors his timeless masterpieces.
Arvo Pärt is turning 90, and that calls for a celebration. With his enchanting oeuvre, the Estonian composer has cemented himself in music history for good – and in hearts and charts all over the world. His mystical tintinnabuli style is inspired by Gregorian chant and the soundscape of bells and chimes. The Belgian National Orchestra is celebrating Pärt with a trip through his instrumental repertoire. In addition to the third symphony, they will perform Spiegel im Spiegel, Fratres, Cantus In Memoriam Benjamin Britten and other contemporary classics.
This celebration for Pärt lovers is not just a concert, but a total experience. Both the orchestra and the audience are embraced by a minimalist yet immersive lighting design.
