4 June 2024 | The Belgian National Orchestra is delighted to launch today its 2024-2025 season entitled "Once upon a time...", an adventure where music and marvellous worlds come together in stories that are captivating, enchanting and timeless.
Antony Hermus, principal conductor of the BNO, did not choose this theme by chance: "Stories are the bedrock of our society, and musicians are always great storytellers".
So on 13 September at Bozar, we kick off this new narrative arc with Richard Strauss's Ein Heldenleben (A Hero's Life), a Belgian premiere by Annelies Van Parys and pianist Boris Giltburg in Prokofiev. Then there's Respighi's gentle Roman landscapes in October, the nocturnal tales of metropolises in November, and the jazzy accents of Marsalis and Benedetti in March, before finishing on a high note with the colourful tales of Scheherazade (12/04), Don Quixote (13/06) and West Side Story (21/06).
For 2024-25, the Belgian National Orchestra has concocted four brand new subscriptions! Whether you're a first-timer or a regular concert-goer, there's something for everyone. Book today and save up to 25% on your tickets.
