Imagine a composer sitting in a fairytale house between a collection of mechanical toys... The setting in which the enchanting music Ma mère l'Oye (or Mother the Goose) was composed by Maurice Ravel. Ravel wrote this sparkling piece especially for two young children. He drew his inspiration from the book by Charles Perrault, a French fairy tale writer. Sleeping Beauty, Little Thumb, The Empress of the Pagodas, Beauty and the Beast and the Fairytale Garden from Sleeping Beauty, pass in our Winter Suite embellished by the illustrations of Grégoire Pont.
