Sawako Kayaki

The musical education of Japanese soprano Sawako Kayaki began at age three, playing the violin. Later, she pursued vocal studies at Tokyo University of the Arts. She studies with Dietrich Henschel and specialized at the International Opera Academy in Ghent (IOA). In one of the IOA productions, she sang a leading role (Retrochick) in the contemporary opera Private View written by the Belgian composer Annelies Van Parys. Recently Sawako won 1st prize at the Internationaler Gesangswettbewerb Basel 2021.
